Setting Up an Affiliate Challenge on Selar

Affiliate Challenges let you run a sales competition among your affiliates. You set the rules, timeframe, and rewards, while Selar handles the tracking, leaderboard, and notifications automatically. This guide walks you through how to create and manage an Affiliate Challenge.

Getting Started

Navigating to Affiliate Challenges

1. From your dashboard, click the hamburger icon in the top right corner to open the menu.

2. Locate Affiliates and click on it to reveal the dropdown.

3. Click Add an Affiliate Challenge.

Setting Up Your Challenge

Basic Details

1. Upload a challenge image. It must be at least 300×300 pixels. A square image is recommended.

2. Enter a name for your challenge.

Applying the Challenge

3. Under Apply Challenge to, select one of the following:

• Single Product — The challenge applies to one specific product.

• Entire Store — The challenge covers all products in your store.

• Product Group — The challenge applies to a selected group of products.

4. If you selected Single Product or Product Group, select the relevant product(s). Note that the product must already be listed on the affiliate network or made available to your affiliates.

Setting the Timeframe

5. Enter a Start Date and End Date for the challenge.

Eligibility

6. Under Eligibility Criteria, choose whether the challenge is open to all affiliates or restricted to affiliates you have added directly.

Setting Rewards

Rewards are limited to a maximum of 5 winners.

For each winner position:

1. Select a Reward Type: Monetary, non-monetary or both.

2. Enter the Winning Amount in your currency.

3. Click Add Reward to save that winner's reward.

4. Repeat for each additional winner position.

Creating the Challenge

1. Once all details and rewards are set, click Create Challenge.

2. You will see a confirmation prompt: "You're about to create a challenge." It will show how many affiliates are currently connected to your products.

3. You will be asked: "Would you like to add them to this challenge?"

• Click Add Existing Affiliates to this Challenge to automatically enrol them. Each affiliate will receive an email notification and can start participating right away.

• If you skip this step, only new affiliates will be able to join going forward.

Managing Your Challenges

Viewing All Challenges

All created challenges are listed on the All Affiliate Challenges page. Navigate there from the Affiliates menu.

Viewing the Leaderboard

1. From the All Affiliate Challenges page, locate the challenge you want to review.

2. Click the ellipsis (⋯) next to it and select View Leaderboard.

3. You will see all participating affiliates ranked from highest to lowest based on sales.

4. From this page, you can toggle the leaderboard visibility on or off to control whether affiliates can see the rankings.

Key Things to Know

• It is only available to products already hosted on the Affiliate Marketplace.

• Only creators on the Pro plan and above can create Affiliate Challenges.

• Affiliates join challenges for free; there is no cost to participate.

• The top 10 positions on the leaderboard are publicly visible to all participants. Affiliates outside the top 10 can only see their own private ranking.

• Rewards are set and fulfilled by you as the creator. Selar provides the tools to run the challenge but does not manage reward payouts.

• Affiliates can remove themselves from a challenge at any time.

• Sales are tracked automatically through Selar's affiliate system; no manual tracking is needed.
