How to Set Up a Ticket & Masterclass on Selar

How to Set Up a Ticket & Masterclass on Selar

1. Log in

Go to selar.co/tickets and log in to your account. If you don't have an account yet, sign up to get started.

2. Create a Ticket Product

From your dashboard, tap the hamburger icon in the top corner. Go to Products, select Add Product, and choose Tickets from the product type options.

This will open the event builder, where you can add the rest of your event details.

3. Add Your Event Details

This section determines how your event will appear to potential attendees.

  • Event name: Use a clear and specific name that tells people what your event is about.
  • Event flyer: Upload a clear, well-designed flyer that represents your event. This is often one of the first things potential attendees will see when your event is shared.
  • Event description: Focus on what attendees will gain from the event. Explain what they can expect to learn or experience rather than simply listing the topics you'll cover.
  • Event category and sub-category: Select the options that best describe your event.

4. Set Your Event Type and Schedule

Choose the type of event you're organising:

  • Virtual
  • Physical
  • Hybrid

For virtual events, add your webinar or meeting link directly to the ticket setup. Attendees will be able to access the link after purchasing their ticket.

For physical events, add the full venue address. This allows attendees to access the location details from their ticket.

Next, set the exact start and end time for your event. Attendees will also have the option to save the event to their calendar.

5. Set Up Your Ticket Tiers

Under Ticket Details, you can create one or more ticket tiers, such as:

  • Regular
  • Early Bird
  • VIP

You can set a different price for each ticket tier.

If different tiers come with different benefits, clearly list what is included with each one. For example, you could offer recording access, a workbook, a live Q&A session, or priority seating.

You can also set a sales limit for each tier if your event has a fixed capacity. If there is no limit, you can leave it unlimited.

You can also set the maximum number of tickets a single buyer can purchase.

If you need to stop new purchases, you can close ticket sales from your dashboard.

6. Payment Setup

There is no manual payment setup required. Selar automatically handles payments based on the customer's location and available payment methods.

Selar supports multiple currencies, including NGN, GHS, KES, USD, GBP, and others. Customers can pay using available methods such as cards, bank transfers, mobile money, and USSD, depending on the currency and payment options available to them.

Ticket sales are processed through your Selar account, and you can manage your earnings and withdrawals from your dashboard.

7. Publish Your Event

Once you've completed all the required sections, scroll to the bottom and select Create Product.

Your event will be published and you'll receive a shareable ticket link.

You can share this link through social media, email, WhatsApp, your website, or any other channel where your audience is active.

8. Manage Your Event on the Day

Download the Tickets by Selar mobile app ahead of your event.

On the day of the event, you can use the app to:

  • Scan tickets using their QR codes.
  • Check attendees in as they arrive.
  • View attendee arrivals in real time.
  • Approve or decline entries where applicable.
  • Make last-minute updates to your event details from your phone.

For physical events, you can also use Selar's on-ground check-in support if you need additional assistance at your venue.

9. Add Affiliates

If you want to increase the reach of your event, you can submit your ticket product to Selar's affiliate network directly from your dashboard.

Once your event is approved, affiliates can promote it through their own channels and earn a commission on tickets they successfully sell.

10. Other Optional Add-ons

For larger or physical events, Selar also offers additional options such as on-ground check-in support and physical wristbands.

These are optional and need to be requested separately.

Before You Publish

  • Event type
  • Date and time
